Howick historical village visit Tggg

                    Howick historical village visit

On Thursday 14th June 2018 Me and My Class  (Ormiston primary School) when to Howick historical village because in School we have been exploring on children through the ages and the learning coach’s thought it was a great opportunity for LH7 to see how children lived in the 1800s
When we arrived we started off with an intro about the place and our guides then we separated Into 3 groups to go look at each of the activities. My group started off with the toys that children played with my favorite was the walking siltis but after the intro, we had morning tea then the 1 activities which were toys. Next was cooking we were making  Irish soda bread I learned that if you put yet you have to put sugar but you don’t put sugar. Some people had a turn to put the ingredients In but some didn’t have a turn   Including me. Next was the school. The next one was doing the different languages and then it was lunch. Finishing off was roaming around the house that was open

3 things I learned was the toys in the olden were made out of extra pieces of wood left over from building a house. 2 thing is how to cook Irish soda bread the 3 one is how to write my name in different code  languages

2 thing that we’re  interesting was the toys they played with was made out of leftover wood and that in the courthouse these playsrips were what the people I the 1800s used

1 thing I still want to learn the foods they ate besides soda bread.

The learners had as much creative license as they needed and then they reflected on how functional the item had become - could it still be used for its original purpose? The next stage was to come up with an item that we use at school and repeat the BAR process. Joshua & Harry decided on creating a dice to use in a game. Joshua & Harry had to use the website TinkerCad to design their dice. They had to use the pre...
