Learning Observed

Today during iDevelop Harry found a book on Sharks and took the initiative to share it with Aarav. Harry was practicing and applying the skim and scan technique of reading and quickly noticed that this book would be of use to Aarav and Hamish who are doing an animal adaptations iExplore learning adventure.  Ziell was also interested in the book, especially the illustrations.Harry was cultivating curiosity in others!  Ka pai.  Aarav enjoyed reading the book and noticed that it helped him prove his other research, thus making important connections to his learning.  Aarav has been learning that to be a critical thinker we can’t believe everything we read on the internet and need to check multiple sources.

Our learners always enjoy the opportunity to connect and collaborate with others.

Learner voice: Harry, “I am showing Aarav because he is learning about Sharks in iExplore”

The next stage was to come up with an item that we use at school and repeat the BAR process. Joshua & Harry decided on creating a dice to use in a game. Joshua & Harry had to use the website TinkerCad to design their dice. They had to use the pre...
